Cyrina Thompson hosts a Waldorf-inspired kindergarten out of her straw bale home in Millfield, Ohio, with hopes of raising children with a more well-rounded childhood experience. The school, now educating six children, emphasizes a developmental approach to the child, meaning that each child is met where they are. Curriculum focuses on the more creative and earthly pursuits, enabling children to get a much different experience than any public school could offer. In addition to running her own school from her own home, Thompson faces another challenge because one of her students is her own son.
